SPORTS MEET OF MAZENOD COLLEGE, ANURADHAPURA

Having spent three years almost slumbering due to the sudden outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic and the fuel crisis in Sri Lanka, Mazenod College, Anuradhapura, woke up almost fluttering in the sunshine at the Vivekananda Vidyalaya College Grounds, Anurdhapura on February 24, 2023 to enjoy its Sports Meet. The parents of the College students rallied round the organisers preparing splendidly the four “Houses” (tents) named after four Oblates, namely Archbishop Christopher Bonjean, Bishop Henry Goonewardena, the first Bishop of the diocese of Anuradhapura, Fr. Michael Rodrigo, the martyr who laid down his life for the peasants of Buttala and Cardinal Archbishop Thomas Cooray. Rev. Sr. Sriyani Rodrigo HF, the former Principal of the Holy Family Convent School, Kurunegala was the chief guest and she delivered a meaningful message, appreciating also the joyful collaborative spirit manifested by the teachers and the parents of the students.
